 Pau D’Arco Tree is an evergreen plant growing in tropical forests of South America, which is also called “Ant tree” (Tabebuia impetiginosa). Pau D’Arco got its name from local Indians for the fact that all the cavities in its core are inhibited with ants. The healing properties of the bark of this plant have been known for thousands of years. Even ancient Enochs used it with the healing purpose.

Pau D’Arco is a natural antibiotic and immune corrector with a broad spectrum. Its chemical components and active ingredients are well-studied. Even during the 60‘s much research of its properties were made.

Antibacterial action of Pau D’Arco is determined by lapahol – a combination extracted from the inner layer of the bark. The first time it was discovered was in 1882, Lapahol produces specific immuno-modulatory, anti-inflammatory effect, prevents from the growth and reproduction of gram-positive and gram-negative bacterium.

Antiviral activity of Pau D’Arco is determined by its ability to suppress fermentative processes, which are essential for viral reproduction.

Antifungal properties of Pau D’Arco are concerned with the presence of ksilodine in its composition, which together with lapahol suppresses fungal growth in different organs and tissues.

Antiparasitic action of Pau D’Arco is specific in its ability to inhibit reproduction and development of intercellular parasites.
