Articul: 1437 90 capsules There is a number of plants known to science, which strengthen the immune system. One such plant is Echinacea purpurea. “Magic plant of the prairies”, “American golden flower”, “Evening Sun” –are names given to this plant by the Indians of Northern America, the motherland of Echinacea. Since times immemorial they have used it for infectious diseases to increase the protective powers of the body. They used Echinacea even for bites of poisonous insects and snakes (in Indian language Echinacea sounds like “Snake root”), and for burns. The plant contains a whole row of healing agents with anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-fungal and finally immune-modulatory effects, which is even higher than that of traditional synthetic drugs. It has a lot of essential micro- and macro elements: iron, zinc, selenium, silver, and manganese. Inflorescence, leaves, stalls and roots of Echinacea contain essential oils (flowers – up to 0.5%, leaves – 0.35%, roots – from 0.05 to 0.25%), gums (about 2%), betain (0.1%), phytosterols, various organic acids (palmitic, linolenic, cerotic), and also specific biologically active agents, peculiar only to Echinacea. The main active ingredients possessing immune modulatory effects are polysaccharides of Echinacea. The polysaccharides stimulate the activity of macrophages – the white blood cells, which absorb bacteria, viruses, and body cells damaged by them. Also polysaccharides assist in the production of T-lymphocytes, which it is possible to prevent the onset of a disease and to provide relief symptoms of the started disease. The glycosides in the composition of Echinacea – echinocozydes possess cortisone-like activity. This effect is concerned with the ability of these combinations to suppress the activity of enzyme hyaluronidase, which stipulates anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of Echinacea. The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect is intensified by the oxycinnamic acids. Despite the fact that the composition of the plant has been thoroughly studied, it still hides a lot of secrets. For example, recently it was found that Echinacea contains powerful antioxidants. Echinacea also has antibacterial and antiviral effects. Its extract suppresses the growth and development of streptococcus, colibacillus, and viruses. Echinacea can be used as a general restorative agent, and as a subsidiary agent in the complex treatment of chronic diseases. For immune stimulation, specialists recommend taking Echinacea in stages: week on, one week off. An example that more does not mean better. Composition: Echinacea purpurea grass, other ingredients. |
