 This tree appeared on Earth about 250 million years ago. It is a contemporary of dinosaurs and was widely spread on the planet during the Age of Reptiles; but after the Ice age only one form out of fifty survived.

Gingo biloba is the only plant known to science, containing specific matters – gingolides and bilobalides, which increase vessel walls elasticity, thus reducing tension of the blood vessel walls, suppress inflammatory reactions by means of platelet-activating factor (PAF) inhibition, preventing them from aggregation, and improving the blood circulation in bloodstream. The increased level of PAF is associated with such diseases as asthma, cardiac infarction, atherosclerosis, arrhythmia and others.

In addition, the plant contains calcium, phosphorus, potassium, tannin, phytosterol, asparagines, margenine – more than 40 ingredients, and also flavone glycosides (proanthocyanides, quercetine, kaempferol, isoramnetine, which produce antioxidant effect and protect cell membranes from damages).
